Career Level 4We are currently looking for a Senior Actuary for our Terms of Trade Team reporting to the Head of Experience Analysis and Terms of Trade in the Life Department.Established in 1968, Munich Reinsurance Company of Africa serves life and non-life reinsurance clients across the Sub-Saharan Africa from our hub in Johannesburg. • Update and maintains all Terms of Trade for MRoA
• Work with the regional office to determine Terms of Trade
• Liaise with retail and group pricing teams and valuations team on assumption setting
• Support overall Life Business strategy & risk management
• Maintain the highest standard of technical competence & ensuring global and local guidelines are followed
• Partner with business to provide valuable insight to influence strategy and long-term decision making
• Train and upskill junior team members on Terms of Trade setting

Your profile:

• FASSA/equivalent actuarial qualification or nearly qualified Actuary
• 5+ years' experience deriving terms of trade and/or doing experience studies
• Sound understanding of South African life insurance products and market dynamics
• Analytical and statistical skills
• Excellent programming skills in actuarial/statistical programming languages
• VBA/Excel
• SQL Server
• R/Python or any relevant software programme
