Our client requires the services of a Software Engineer (Advanced) - Midrand/Menlyn/Rosslyn/Home Office rotation

POSITION: Contract until December 2026EXPERIENCE: 4-6 Years related working experience.COMMENCEMENT: As soon as possibleQUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• Relevant IT Degree / Diploma plus ISTQB or similar certification
• 3 years plus in a similar role, more than 5 year plus total experience required in software engineering.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Functional Testing.
• Test data management.
• Defect Management.
• Knowledge of Automation Frameworks: (specifically Selenium, Rest Assured or similar)
• Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL
• Languages: SQL, XML, PLSQL, JSON
• Proficient use of Confluence, Jira, Jira Xray
• Log analysis
• End user support/ Incident-Problem management: ITSM Suite / BMC Remedy or ServiceNow
• SDLC Methodology: Agile, Scrum, Kanban or XP
• Understanding Java application architecture and design patterns
• Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS

• Integration Testing Frameworks
• Non-Functional Testing.
• Mocking Frameworks
• Languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS
• Front End Frameworks: Angular, JSF/JSP, Struts
• Interface Technologies: MQ, REST, SOAP
• CI/CD: Version Control, Build and Deployment Pipelines (Maven, GIT, Jenkins, Sonar, Jira, Fortify, GitHub, GitHub Actions)

ROLE:

• Collaborate with team, system analysis, design, development and testing for their assigned technical products or applications within the context of an agile/DevOps delivery model.
• Manual Functional Testing Phases
• Support Automation Testing Development
• Compile and/or Validate test cases around business requirements.
• Defining and implementing test plan for releases
• Track new/changed requirements and ensure these are addressed during testing phases.
• Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols as well as required system documentation.
• Overall management and maintenance and preparation of test data.
• Coordination of test environments
• Defect Management.
• Support operational excellence goals through strong operations knowledge. Resolve escalated support topics as part of tier-2/3 DevOps role to ensure the highest availability of critical applications.
• Plan work-effort as part an agile team
• Important: A clear criminal record is required.
