Our client requires the services of a Test Engineer (Senior) - Midrand/Menlyn/Rosslyn/Home Office rotation

POSITION: Contract until December 2027EXPERIENCE: 6-8 Years related working experienceCOMMENCEMENT: 01 April 2025QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Certifications in relevant testing frameworks or cloud technologies (e.g., ISTQB, Microsoft Azure).

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
• Familiarity with performance testing and load testing tools.
• Proficient in writing system and load tests.
• Experience with development languages such as python/C#/Java.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and design.
• Familiarity with message queuing systems, such as RabbitMQ.
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS

• Expertise in containerization technologies, including Docker and Docker Swarm.
• Strong understanding of both backend and frontend testing methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with Linux and networking concepts.
• Experience working with CI/CD environments.
• Experience with Git and Git workflows.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently and proactively.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Experience in Agile/DevOps methodologies.

ROLE:

• Design and implement comprehensive test plans, including system tests, and load tests.
• Automate testing processes to ensure efficient and reliable testing.
• Carry out black box testing on existing components.
• Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve issues early in the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the testing processes and frameworks.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve the overall quality and stability of the software.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest testing methodologies, tools, and technologies.
