Job Description

Our client, an equipment repair and services company is seeking a Qualified Tractor Mechanic to join their team based in the Eastern CapeLocation: Humansdorp/PE and SurroundsJob Type: Permanent, on-siteDuties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct services of a diverse range of agricultural tractor brands.
• Troubleshooting and diagnoses of mechanical failures on tractors and tractor components.
• After assessment / fault diagnosis, be able to provide a complete record of parts required.
• Carry out repairs to tractors and tractor components. (Work will include but is not limited to anything from minor repairs to complete engine overhauls, transmissions, clutches, basic electrical repairs etc.)
• Replacement of, or repairs to worn or damaged parts on tractors, agricultural equipment and implements.
• Carry out maintenance of and repairs to agricultural implements and equipment.
• Carry out predelivery inspections on tractors, agricultural equipment and implements.
• May occasionally have weld defective body or frame parts. (We do have a welder in our employment, but a suitable candidate must still be able to do a limited amount of welding in the field when required.)
• Keep accurate maintenance and repair records (job cards and other records as required by our recordkeeping policy).
• Repairs are conducted both in the field and in the workshop.
• Must be able to prioritize based on job urgency, customer needs, and assigned workload.
• Conduct effective time management in all areas of job responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a qualified (Trade Tested) tractor or diesel mechanic with
• Experience in the Agricultural sector is required
• Must have diverse tractor brand experience (e.g. Massey Ferguson, Landini, New Holland, Case), as well as experience of maintenance and repairs to agricultural equipment and implements.
• Minimum of 5 years or more post-trade and relevant experience.
• Fluent in both Afrikaans and English.
• Valid drivers' license is essential.
• Ability to work independently and in a team
