Duties and Responsibilities:

Managing and expanding the current trade mark portfolio and practice.
Managing the renewals process.
Managing the filing of trade mark applications, in accordance with client instructions.
File and document management (uploading documents, device marks, correspondences, info for e-filing, endorsements, managing/ monitoring notes);
Assisting and coordinating with tenders, quotes and Request for Proposal (RFP) projects
Preparing and drafting of correspondence to clients and colleagues.
Researching law and drafting opinions.
Managing related litigation matters, including but not limited to matters relating to trademark infringement, cancellation and opposition, etc.
Dealing with enquiries and advising clients in relation to copyright queries and dealing with litigation relating to copyright disputes
Monthly invoicing of fees and disbursements
Trade Mark filing and prosecution;
Liaising with clients and agents;
Attending consultations with counsel;
Researching and assisting with classification queries
Preparing marketing material, including articles for publication in conjunction with the marketing department.
Client management

Minimum Requirements:

Admitted Attorney
Qualified Trade Marks Practitioner (SAIIPL)
Minimum 3 years post-admission experience in IP
Experience of working in an IP firm
Computer and System Experience is highly advantageous (Patrix - Patricia, CIPC, AJS etc.)
