Job Overview:
We are seeking a Junior Trade-Tested Electrician with a Wiremans License to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working on telecoms towers, UPS systems, and electrical installations for cell phone providers in South Africa. The role requires hands-on expertise in electrical maintenance, fault finding, and installations within the telecommunications infrastructure environment. You will need to travel nationally to various sites.Key Responsibilities:

• Installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on telecoms towers.
• Troubleshooting UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems and battery backup solutions.
• Ensuring compliance with SANS 10142-1 wiring regulations and other relevant electrical standards.
• Conducting fault-finding and repairs on electrical circuits and power distribution systems.
• Performing routine and emergency maintenance on power supply units, rectifiers, and generator backup systems.
• Working with high and low voltage electrical systems in line with telecoms infrastructure requirements.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently under health and safety regulations.
• Documenting and reporting maintenance and repair work conducted.

Minimum Requirements:

• Trade-Tested Electrician qualification.
• Valid Wiremans License (Registered with the Department of Labour).
• Minimum 2 years of experience working on telecoms towers and UPS systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical and power systems in telecoms infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Cell Phone Installers or Solar Installations in electrical specifications is an advantage.
• Ability to work at heights and in remote locations.
• Must have a drivers license and willingness to travel.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

• Experience with solar power systems and battery storage for telecoms applications.
• Knowledge of diesel generators and rectifier systems.
• Understanding of remote monitoring systems for power management.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Solar Installations will also be considered.
