Traffic Management Centre Operations Manager - Centurionull job descriptionImprove operational management systems, processes, and best practicesManagement of operations with the aim to reduce travel times of road users by having free flow traffic conditions through quick clearance of incidents on the road networkEnsure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and timelines are met and improved upon (in collaboration with TMC Assistant Operations Manager) through quality control and monitoring measures put in placeHelp the organisations processes remain legally compliantHigh-level management of TMC Staff - Ensure all operations are carried out in an appropriate wayReviewing and optimising of the TMC work for the various TMC staff along with SupervisorsMotivate staff and encouraging teamwork amongst staff and law enforcement members collocating at the TMCDevelopment of professional skills sets of staff through on the job skills transfer.Participate in updating Manuals and SOPsLiaising with external stakeholders (law enforcement) and building relationshipsAdvise and Coordinate Scene Management of External services and ORS personnelReview / Oversee TMC Operations on daily, weekly and monthly basisCoordinate (Develop and implement) the TMC Employee Performance Reviews i.e Abuse of Sick Leave, Incidents recorded and resolvedEnsure and coordinate the TMC Performance Management (Regional comparison and reporting of the Performance Management in general)Review and Analyse Incident data and Statistics to make informed recommendations of improvements/enhancements of the networkReview corrective actions / trainings initiated for Operational improvementsRecovery Plan ImplementationAttending and chairing meetings such as monthly staff meetingsSkillsGrade 1215 years management experience, preferably in a transportation or related operational environmentValid drivers licenceIntermediate computer literacy skills (MS Office)Knowledge of Road Incident ManagementSystems will be advantageousProven work experience as Operations Manager or similar roleAbility to work in a high-pressure environment and high stress toleranceAbility to proactively make immediate assessments, decisions and give instructions to staff on live traffic-related incidents. i.e. knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations managementDriven to meet and improve Operational Key Performance Indicator requirementsExcellent written and verbal communication skills Organising and planning skillsStrong Managerial and Leadership abilityDriven to meet and improve Operational Key Performance Indicator requirementsAnalytical and Critical thinking i.e Problem-solving skillsReporting skillsTeamworkDeadline drivenProfessionalismAssertivenessWorking knowledge of BCEA
