Free range beef production farm in Eastern Cape requires a trainee farm manager to run a 2000Ha Bonsmara/Beefmaster beef breeding operation. Candidate will be responsible for managing a small but willing labour force, co-ordinating livestock collection, sorting, counting, tagging, dehorning, weaning. Maintenance of beef handling infrastructure, fencing, water infrastructure, farmhouse and outbuildings and improvement projects. Regular water checks and maintenance of water infrastructure, security (notifying private security when relevant), veld grazing management, trail upkeep, administering staff incentive scheme and rations, collection of supplies from town (15min away), mixing lick, distributing salt, quarantining of any sick animals on add hoc basis. Notifying fire group when fires emerge onsite, and joining in to help the community for nearby fires with the team.Good communicator, whatsapp updates to ops group, able to check plans in google drive. 2 way radios with the team.Matriculation completion with preferable relevant onward studyComputer literacy a plus (email, excel, google docs)Driving licence and able to ride a motorbikeGood with your hands, willing to take on some maintenance tasksSome experience in farmlife or similar role, preferably with interaction with beef production, love of nature and outdoorsHands on, must be willing to get hands dirty and count themselves as one of the staff not only to watch and manage.Personable character with can do attitude, as this role has potential to grow with the intents of the investor
