About the Role:
We are seeking a young, dynamic, and Afrikaans-speaking individual with a passion for IT security to join our team as a Trainee IT Security Technician. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who has gained some work experience in IT and is eager to build a career in cybersecurity.Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in monitoring, identifying, and responding to cybersecurity threats.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of security protocols, firewalls, and other protective measures.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in risk mitigation efforts.
• Provide technical support related to security solutions and best practices.
• Assist in compliance and security audits to ensure adherence to company and industry standards.
• Stay up to date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies.
• Work closely with senior security engineers and IT teams to enhance cybersecurity measures.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Passion for IT security and cybersecurity.
• Afrikaans-speaking (fluent in written and spoken communication).
• Some prior work experience in IT support, networking, or cybersecurity is beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and best practices.
• Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
• Eagerness to learn and develop in the cybersecurity field.

Preferred Certifications (Advantageous but Not Mandatory):
Any of the following certifications (or similar) will be a massive advantage:

• CompTIA Secure Infrastructure Specialist (CSIS)
• CompTIA Security Analytics Professional (CSAP)
• CompTIA Secure Cloud Professional (CSCP)
