OVERALL, PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To regulate, monitor and enforce Legal Compliance at the SACAA in line with all laws, regulations, standards, rules, procedures and process documents that are applicable to the SACAA, assist with Ethics and Governance.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Assist in the Implementation of an effective legal compliance program. Assist in compiling Compliance Risk Management Plans to identify gaps. Assist in development and reviewing company policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws. Assist in advising Legal compliance specialist on the company's compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports. Assist in creating and managing effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations. Present training on applicable laws. Assist the governance and ethics department. Assist with PAIA Applications. Assist the Assistant Company Secretary with governance related matters.

OUTPUTS/ DELIVERABLES

Development and implementation of the POPIA compliance program. Implementation of the Legal Compliance and Governance program. Monitoring Ethics compliance. Regularly audit legal compliance in terms of company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks. Assess company operations to determine compliance risk. Ensure all employees are educated on the latest regulations and processes. Process PAIA Applications. Prepare minutes.

Ideal Requirements

Law Degree Advantage: (Compliance Certificate, Completed Articles, Admitted Attorney) Legal Compliance Certificate as well Certified Ethics Officer

Minimum Experience

Minimum 2 years' experience required in a law firm or legal compliance/governance office.
