Transport Controller - KZNFull job descriptionJob Summary:Our client in Logisitics and distribution is seeking a highly organized and experienced Transport Controller to join our team at the Phoenix Industrial Park Head Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and timely transportation of goods, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:Transport Management: Coordinate and manage the daily transportation operations, including the scheduling of deliveries and pickups, route planning, and load optimization.Fleet Coordination: Monitor and manage the companyxe2x80x99s fleet of vehicles, ensuring that all vehicles are maintained, serviced, and in compliance with legal and safety standards.Communication: Liaise with drivers, warehouse staff, and clients to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Address any issues or delays in a timely manner.Reporting: Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including delivery logs, vehicle maintenance schedules, and fuel usage. Prepare and present regular reports to management.Compliance: Ensure all transportation activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements. Handle any incidents or accidents in accordance with company procedures.Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely deliveries and addressing any client concerns or inquiries.Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Transport Controller role, preferably within a logistics or transportation environment.Education: A relevant qualification in logistics, transportation management, or a related field is preferred.Skills:Strong organizational and time-management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in transport management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of transport regulations, fleet management, and logistics operations.Please note that due to the nature of the industry, it is expected to receive calls from our logistics partners after normal working hours from time to time.Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PermanentPay: R8 000,00 - R12 000,00 per monthEducation:Diploma (Preferred)Experience:Transport controller: 3 years (Required)Location:Durban, KwaZulu-Natal (Required)
