The position will report to the Logistics Manager and is based in Randjendspark (Midrand).Job PurposeManaging the execution of service transportation activities (inbound, outbound) for the Site and support the transformation of Gibela services transportation organization in line with the Global Supply Chain strategy.Manage and optimize Site operations and shipments ensuring process and regulations compliance. Facilitate communication towards internal and external stakeholdersPlanning and execution of transportation & logistics flows including Customs activities to fulfil Sites Supply Chain requirementsLead the governance established between the site and the transportation service providers in line with the transportation strategySupport strategic programs, projects and network studies for the Transportation organization to achieve AT operational objectivesAt site level:Contribute actively to the definition and implementation of the Indirect Sourcing strategyParticipate in Suppliers Performance and Business reviews (monthly / quarterly per Suppliers governance model)Are the main contact for transport RFP to collect data and build specificationsSite Customs referent[DS1] [OM2]Key ResponsibilitiesManage the planning and execution of transportation & logistics flows for the Site:Document and maintain the Site transportation plan with routing guide covering all modes (road, express, oversize...) in collaboration with the Global Transportation team and its pillars (Overseas-TCTs, Regional-TCTs and Project Out-of-Gauge team) [BA3] [OM4]See to it that transportation requests and bookings are anticipated and planned in accordance with defined cut-off timesEnsure material is prepared and ready on time for dispatch and that shipments status are up-to-date in the information systemSee to it that shipping documents are available (delivery notes, commercial invoice, certificate of origin, transport & customs documents) remaining in constant contact with suppliers and customersMake sure Purchase orders are open in line with budgets and forecasts, and monitor the approval in due time of invoices for transportation servicesSolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, customs or customer issues; monitor non-conformities and non-compliance issues (emergency shipments, late cancellations, document issues) and drive continuous improvement plansMonitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirementsMaintain and sustain the Transportation performance scorecard both in terms of quality of the services and costsYou lead the Site shipment/expediting department and deploy the Transportation strategy:Document requirements and specifications, actively participate in RFPs for transportation services and business awards in collaboration with Indirect ProcurementExpress requirements and specifications with regards to IS&T tools and developmentParticipate in Suppliers Performance and Business reviews (monthly / quarterly per governance model)Be the escalation point for operational issues raised by Internal Customers and Global Transportation departmentBe the SPOC for Global TCTs and OOG teams with regards to process improvements or new projects :consolidate internal needs, arbitrate between priorities, liaise with Site stakeholdersPlay the role of ambassador for the Global Transportation team in Site; coordinate or deliver trainings to the Sites teams (logistics and shipping teams, material planning, procurement, engineering) on transportation management strategy, regulations, international trade and IncotermsYou support the Global Transportation Performance managementImplement, maintain Services transport standard KPIs and ensure timely and accurate update of performance dashboard and reportsUnderstand reporting needs and design reports that provide stakeholders with accurate measurements of their business driversMonitor cost performance vs Budget of the site; identify cost drivers, analyze deviations and propose action plansDesign and implement a visual management process regularly updatedMaintain documentation of Transportation processes using Operational Excellence tools (VSM, SIPOC)You facilitate the continuous improvement and transformation of the Transportation organizationAnalyze performance, identify opportunities for improvement and propose corrective actions or improvement plansDrive cost saving projects on transport routes and space usage on transportRun network studies aimed at improving AT Transportation network, reducing Total Cost and Delivery lead-timesDevelop REX and sharing best practicesContribute with transportation cost models to Supply Chain TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) for end-to-end business cases and optimization of material flowsDuring Project implementation and Execution phasesManage [BA5] or support (based on the RACI) the local transportation provider during project implementation and execution, including performance managementMonitor local project implementation : be part of the kick-off meetings, ensure documentation availability (invoice, packing list),Supervise loading/unloading operations (at site and/or depots)[BA6] [BA7] for domestic or continental transportationActively support the transportation schedule to achieve contractual deliverablesFollow and manage priorities with Planners teams in case of overlaps of shipments dates across projectsMinimum RequirementsDegree in international transport or supply chainMinimum 5 years experience in a similar Supply Chain position3 to 5 years of ERP SAP KnowledgeValidated experience in logistics, 3PL managementGood understanding of customs regulations and procedures of sites countryKnowledge of modern principles for efficient transportation management, and distribution controlIncoterms knowledgeClosing Date17 July 2024Should you not hear from us in 30 days, consider your application as unsuccessful.Job Segment: Logistics, Supply Chain, RFP, Pre-Sales, Procurement, Operations, Sales
