The aim of the Unit is to formulate and apply an integrated programme of research and capacity development to improve the understanding, detection, prevention and management of a broad portfolio of non-communicable diseases, with a focus on cardiovascular and metabolic disorders in South Africa.The post holder will assist with and form an integral part of the SAMRC's transformation agenda.The Unit Director position calls for a senior researcher with international standing, proven leadership skills and the ability to enhance and maintain a centre of excellence that facilitates the generation and dissemination of methodological research and primary research to enhance evidence-informed healthcare and policy.
