Purpose of the Position:
To ensure fault resolution, installation and repair of broadcast equipment necessary to reduce operational down time. Participate in the creative design and implementation of new technology and system changes. To provide support to the Unit Technical Manager.
Key Performance Objectives
Tasks
Operational Delivery
Ensure quality control of the broadcast systems and equipment.
Administration of engineering functions including fault reports, change control, maintenance plans, asset tracking and formal report writing
Ensure availability of technical support as well as operational advice to clients
Accountable for daily operations of the OB unit
Assume respond when Unit Technical Manager is not available
Assist with production pre-planning
Assist with training and development of technician
Assist units other than your dedicated unit where business requires
Budget Management
Ensure cost effective utilization of resources
Ensure that there is proper CAPEX planning and budgeting input to relevant line manager
Communication
Communicate with external clients regarding the repairs and acquisitions of equipment or spare parts
Ensure that feedback is provided on deliverables through appropriate communication channels
Qualification:
A National Diploma in Engineering or similar engineering qualification
A+ and N+
Qualification Preferred:
A Degree advantageous
Experience
A minimum 5-7 years' experience outside broadcasting engineering or similar qualification
Extensive live broadcasting knowledge
