Unit ManagerFunctionNursingFacilityPositionUnit ManagerIntroductionA vacancy exists for a Unit Manager for an on-site in the Richards Bay area (40 hours/week) reporting to the Business Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for rendering a quality occupational health service which is effective and efficient, and exceeds customers' expectations of an Occupational Health Clinic.Critical Outputs

  • Managing an Occupational Health Clinic and commitment to delivering excellent health services.
  • Maintenance of an Occupational Health Program to establish the physical, psychological and social well-being of the worker in a safe working environment.
  • Monitoring the health status of employees through on-going surveillance programmes according to the SOP.
  • Providing information the Client can utilize to eliminate, control and minimize health risks and hazards to which the employees are, or may be exposed.
  • Coordination of emergency procedures.
  • Working effectively within a budget and billing of clients
  • Meeting the prescribed professional and quality standards of both Life Occupational Health and the Clients.
  • Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards including internal and external audits (Life EHS as well as client audits).
  • Rotational standby and callouts.
  • Analysing monthly reports. Discussions with client and changes to be activated on approval of client.
  • Managing EMS Staff with help of EMS Coordinator.
RequirementsThe following qualifications are required:
  • Qualifications in General Nursing and Occupational Health Nursing (SANC registered) with sound knowledge in the provision of Occupational Health Care Services.
  • Clinical Nursing Science qualification would be an added advantage.
  • Current registration with SANC
  • Dispensing license
  • Certificate of competency in Spirometry, Vision Screening and Audiometry including registration as Audiometrist with SASOHN.
  • BLS for HCP
  • HV/AIDS Management
  • Computer literacy essential.
  • Experience in the treatment of Injuries on Duty.
  • Ideally, the candidate should have experience in administration and employee relations, good communication skills
  • Candidates who are results orientated, have initiative and the ability to deliver quality outputs will be most suitable for this position.
