Chand Consultants, a consulting company based in the southern suburbs of Cape Town is seeking an EAPASA registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to fulfill the role of senior consultant on the team. Our working atmosphere is equally balanced between independence and teamwork. and we pride ourselves on breeding connection - with our clients, I&APs, authorities, and other members of the Chand team.


Duties will include the following:

Environmental baseline and constraints analysis. Project management of environmental application processes including specialist management, authority liaison and client feedback. Conducting public participation processes and facilitating stakeholder meetings. Compilation of Basic Assessment Reports, Scoping Reports, Environmental Impact Reports, Site Sensitivity Verification Reports, Comments & Responses Reports, Environmental Management Programs, Waste Management License Applications, Air Emission License Applications and Water Use License Applications. Environmental Compliance Auditing. Facilitate engaging and productive social interactions by leading discussions, workshops, and group activities for community-based projects, ensuring inclusivity and positive participation from all members. Actively building and maintaining relationships with clients.
Mentorship and support to junior consultants.

Qualifications/Experience Required

:

Minimum +7 years proven EIA and WULA experience in a lead role. EAPASA Registration (this is a fixed requirement). Excellent working knowledge of environmental legislation as it relates to EIA and other environmental regulatory processes. Excellent report writing and communication skills. The ability to work in a team and independently. Critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities, as trouble shooting is at the core of our service offering. The ability to work efficiently under pressure on multiple projects. The ability to confidently liaise with clients and work strategically within multidisciplinary professional teams. Own transport. Being strategic and innovative will add value to the team.
Note: Preference will be given to candidates from the Western Cape.

Salary range:
