BTT Richards Bay is currently recruiting for a motivated and experienced Vessel Planning Supervisor to join the Logistics Department.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The incumbent in this position will oversee the safe and efficient planning and scheduling of all bulk shipments to be worked at BTT berths in Richards Bay. To compile and communicate the shipping schedule for the loading and discharge of all cargoes for the region and ensure that tank availability and utilisation effectively and efficiently managed, through proper communication with all relevant internal and external stakeholders. To coordinate requests received from customers for service changes and product changes in tanks.

Minimum Requirements

Matric Logistics/Planning/Operations Diploma would be preferable 5 years' experience in the receipt, handling and storage of bulk liquids.

Duties and Responsibilities

JOB SPECIFICATION

Plan vessel discharges and loading; update shipping and transfer forecasts. Allocate berths to minimize delays and contamination risks. Follow up on tank nominations for available ullage and allocations. Capture shipments accurately on the BTT system; ensure timely updates. Distribute shipping schedules with relevant information. Track shipments and provide client and management feedback. Liaise with maintenance for inspections and communicate activities. Coordinate pipeline pressure testing. Collaborate with operations and logistics for efficiency. Ensure proper ullage and stock for chemical imports/exports. Adhere to BTT operations procedures for loading/discharge. Oversee bulk shipment import/export operations; assist with shipping queries. Maintain communication across departments on tank planning. Organize meetings and update customers on tank maintenance. Manage tank allocations in SAP, report maintenance issues to Logistics manager. Liaise with Logistics and Customer Relationship Manager for tank planning and shipping issues. Coordinate tank washing via required PR and requisitions. Follow up with receivers and agents for vessel documentation as per BTT procedures. Work with vessel agents on berthing at Richards Bay. Represent BTT in external meetings on shipping, stock, and ullage. Communicate with shipping agents and port authorities. Manage customer inquiries on ship arrivals, cargoes, and compile the BTT shipping schedule. Address shipping and transfer planning issues, informing all parties involved. Update Logistics Manager on significant issues. Coordinate with Transnet Port Authority for maintenance berth occupancy. Keep stakeholders informed of berth occupancies and scheduling delays. Generate weekly/monthly vessel performance reports and track shipping compliance with SHEQ standards.
