Job Description

IQbusiness is seeking to employ a Visual Designer on a 12 month contract, to collaborate with an international client, from our offices in Welgemoed, Cape Town Northern Suburbs.
This is a hybrid role (3 days on-site; 2 days WFH).Our ideal candidate:

• 10+ years experience in visual communication/design both as freelancer and in-house designer
• Track record for producing compelling visualisation of content
• Experience working with talent to hone ideas
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and balance multiple projects at a time.

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for designing and delivering content and communications materials such as white papers; long and short-form reports; visual identities for events, podcasts, webinars and more; social media assets; and the occasional book design for e-readers and print-on-demand platforms.
• Provide design support and expertise for other areas of the team; social media, editorial content, video production.
• Managing the production of print and digital materials from concept to completion, ensuring a clear brief and a realistic production schedule is in place.

Required skills:

• Expert visual communicator, with a passion for design.
• Excellent skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
• After Effects desirable.
• Familiarity with Wordpress desirable.
• Interest and practical knowledge of photography desirable.

Required qualities:

• Creative: Ambitious in your ideas, and enthusiastic about visual communication. You keep up-to-date with the latest trends in visual communications, and take pride in the quality of your work.
• Exceptional ability in fostering a collaborative environment, seamlessly navigating between needs for strict brand adherence and the desire for narrative-driven, flexible content. The capability to encourage synergy and understanding without highlighting divisional boundaries is key
• Organised: Project management skills, you take responsibility for seeing a project through from concept to completion. Youre able to translate requests into design briefs by asking the right questions at the right time. You manage your time effectively and can handle multiple projects at a time during busy periods.
• Articulate: Able to clearly communicate your ideas and explain the rationale behind your design decisions, you provide visual communications guidance to other members of the team when required. Being an exemplary creative professional, you clearly explain the creative production process to colleagues who do not specialize in this area. Youre able to build good working relationships with other team members.
