General Entertainment Channels (M-Net Channels & Third-Party Channels), Content Strategy, Technology systems, Media Operations i.e., Traffic and Content Processing.
Purpose of the Position:
To accurately plan & schedule Catch Up, co-ordinate Trailers and the correct version of content consistently, to VOD Operations to publish on time on all the various VOD platforms and bouquets.
Key Performance Objectives
Deal Memo Loading
Create Third Party Deal Memo Licenses in Synergy
Consolidate all schedules into an inventory list which is distributed to, and used by, cross departmental stakeholders
Flag content in EPGenius to allow for Third Party VOD License creation
Update programme metadata information (genre, Media ID, Episode Title) in Synergy for each episode
Update highlights document with Catch Up availability for use by marketing and content discovery teams
Content Planning
Plan content per platform per bouquet, 2 months in advance for Scheduling and Sales purposes
Ensure that all channels (Group and Third Party) submit content avails for content planning
Conduct due diligence and mitigate operational risks
Catch Up Scheduling
Accurately schedule all content on selection list, according to monthly deadlines, with the correct dates and times for all platforms and bouquets using the synergy catch-up module
Schedule all notifications accurately and on time on the Short form VOD scheduling module
Ensure that the metadata in the VOD tab is correct and in accordance with catch-up requirements
Quality check schedule to ensure there are no errors
Send emails to all stakeholders and release, on synergy, a complete schedule, 6 weeks before Transmission (TX)
Track linear schedule changes and implement any changes that affect catch-up on the catch-up schedule
Release any schedule updates as and when necessary and email the updated schedule to all stakeholders specifying the changes made on the body of the email
Trailer Scheduling
Use the trailer workflows, as per SOPs, to ensure trailer availability
Schedule all trailers within 48hrs of availability
Liaise with channel marketing regarding content on schedule grid without promo information
Stakeholder Management
Liaise and work closely as per relevant SOPs with Multichoice Content, M-Net Channels, Media Traffic, Media Processing and BTD VOD Ops to ensure effective communication and harmonious working relations exist
Ensure efficient and effective daily communication with all stakeholders
Reporting, Controls and Process Implementation
Scrutinise the 7-day metadata report to ensure metadata is released 7days before TX
Make use of the 3-day report and resolve any outstanding issues within 2hours of receipt
On request and on an ad-hoc basis assist in any other relevant Catch-Up related undertakings that will help ensure a 97% content availability on all devices
Adhere to the new Media Operations workflows as well as effective use of the Synergy Tools to ensure smooth end-to end Catch Up operations
Ensure ongoing refinement of processes to drive the Project Gold objective
Qualifications Essential
A National Diploma or degree in Business Management/Broadcast/Media Studies or equivalent NQF Level 5 qualification
Experience
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in broadcast or similar position
