Job Summary WAREHOUSE CONTROLLER AREA: BRAKPAN (Gauteng) DEPARTMENT: Logistics EMPLOYMENT: Permanent REPORTS TO: Plant/Factory Manager QUALIFICATION: Matric essential. Warehouse qualification advantageous. JOB PURPOSE The Warehouse Controller is responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of inventory, and maintaining high standards of organization, safety, and security. The role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure timely and accurate receipt, storage, issue and dispatch of goods. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Job-related activities include, but are not limmited to: Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess. Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies. Report any significant issues or discrepancies to management. Utilize warehouse management systems for tracking and managing inventory. Oversee the receiving of incoming goods, ensuring they are correctly counted, inspected, and recorded. Coordinate the dispatch of outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. Ensure proper documentation and labelling of all goods. Supervise and coordinate daily activities of warehouse staff. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations. Ensure efficient use of warehouse space and layout planning. Ensure all warehouse activities comply with company policies and safety regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and training for warehouse staff. Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment. Train, motivate, and evaluate warehouse staff to enhance their performance and development. Schedule and assign tasks to warehouse personnel. Address any performance or disciplinary issues promptly. Generate regular reports on inventory levels, warehouse activities, and performance metrics. Analyse data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Liaise with procurement, production, sales, and logistics departments to ensure seamless operations. Communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
