to oversee warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for inventory management, process optimization, and maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment. Manage VLC and FLC budgets in line with annual flexed targets.
Main responsibilities
Focus Area 1: Operational Excellence and Compliance:
Ensure strict
compliance with 5S warehouse standards
and track improvements.
Cascade and enforce company
policies, SOPs, and best practices
across all warehouse operations.
Implement and design the management cycle e.g. Business Descriptions, SLA's, Process.
Maps, KPI Indicators and ensure compliance with all warehouse staff and show results evolution.
Develop and continuously validate SOPs through management routines by using tools and ensure understanding by all warehouse employees (LnA,SCL OWD).
Team room managed and updated through routine meetings to solve problems and drive performance.
Focus Area 2: Inventory and Process Control:
Ensure
daily compliance with inventory counts
and manage discrepancies.
Use problem solving tools to develop action plans to show improvement on PI's and KPI's
Manage the process on how to destroy and write off obsolete products in compliance with legal/environmental requirements.
Implement and adhere to a Location-Based Inventory System to identify stored products
Track and trend all operating variances within in the warehouse and utilize management tools to improve results
Focus Area 3: Performance and Quality Management
Cascade KPIs and PI's to individual warehouse employees and ensure standardization of achievements.
Monitor and track
warehouse cleanliness, pest control
, and
temperature compliance
to ensure operational standards.
Create, monitor, and maintain
picking KPIs
(e.g., cases per man hour, replenishment adherence).
Design and manage the
Warehouse Capacity Utilization Model
to improve overall warehouse efficiency.
Focus Area 4: Team Development & Safety Compliance
+ Develop and deliver a
quality induction program
for warehouse staff, ensuring 100% compliance.
+ Provide ongoing
coaching and training
to improve team performance.
+ Track and ensure adherence to all
safety-related processes
and maintain a safe warehouse environment.
+ Implement and manage
waste and recycling operations
to ensure compliance with sustainability goals.
Requirements of the Role
3+ years Warehouse and or logistics experience advantageous
Highly level computer user (MS Office, Oasis, Handheld devices)
Syspro proficiency will be an added advantage
Good interpersonal skills / builds good relationships
Superior planning ability
Ability to work under pressure
Good verbal and communication skills
Good self-management practices
Strong achievement orientation
Ability to adapt to and implement change effectively
