Roles and Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, dispatch, and management of solar energy products and equipment across multiple warehouses and branches. The role includes managing logistics, fleet operations, imports/exports, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.Key Roles & Responsibilities
Warehouse & Inventory Management:
Oversee daily warehouse operations across multiple locations, ensuring smooth workflows.
Implement best practices for inventory control, stock accuracy, and loss prevention.
Manage storage and handling of solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other components.
Optimize warehouse layout and storage systems for efficiency.
Conduct stock audits and cycle counts to minimize discrepancies.
Ensure FIFO (First-In-First-Out) and LIFO (Last-In-First-Out) methods are followed as per industry requirements.Logistics & Distribution:
Oversee local and international logistics operations, including imports and exports.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs clearance agents, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
Develop efficient routing and dispatching plans to optimize deliveries.
Work closely with sales and operations teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
Track and monitor shipments to mitigate delays and damages.Fleet & Transportation Management:
Manage a fleet of delivery vehicles, trucks, and logistics partners.
Implement a preventive maintenance schedule for company vehicles.
Ensure vehicles are compliant with regulatory and safety standards.
Track fuel consumption, route optimization, and driver performance.
Implement GPS tracking systems for real-time monitoring of fleet operations.Team Leadership & Performance Management:
Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff, logistics coordinators, and drivers.
Set KPIs for warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficiency and accountability.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training where necessary.
Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Compliance & Safety:
Ensure adherence to OSHA, HSE, and local safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety drills, risk assessments, and training sessions.
Implement procedures for handling and storing solar equipment safely.
Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes.Continuous Improvement & Cost Control:
Implement lean warehouse management techniques to reduce operational costs.
Identify and implement technology solutions (WMS, ERP, GPS tracking, etc.) to enhance efficiency.
Work on strategies to minimize logistics and warehousing expenses.
