Seeking a dynamic and driven Warehouse & Quality Assistant to facilitate our operations manager in supporting our sales and logistics functions in our engineering steel warehouse. This role is instrumental in supporting revenue growth, ensure a smooth flow of our operations, whilst promoting efficient customer satisfaction. The role assists in fostering a constructive dialogue between our sales, operations and dispatch teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate qualities of leadership, good mechanical and industry knowledge, and a passion for overcoming challengeKey Responsibilities:Assist Operations manager in monitoring and managing of supervisors and other staffEnsuring that safety requirements set by Divisional SHEQ Administrator are adhered to by all staffDoing regular inspections on warehouses housekeepingControlling and co-ordinating all stock movements between warehouses, e.g. warehouse transfersand reclassification of stockMonitor and manage all receiving clerks to ensure receiving standards and procedures are beingadhered toArranging the replenishment of empty racks from receiving areas and reporting these movementsback the Divisional Supply Chain ManagerReporting of all stock shortagesHandling and reporting of all quality issues to the Divisional SHEQ Administrator and Divisional Supply Chain ManagerAttend to customer quality call-outs and generate reports for the Divisional SHEQ AdministratorAssist in disciplinary matters in the warehouses Communication of all lead times, delays, issues in warehouses with Operations manager and Sales DepartmentAssist with internal training for warehouse staffAssist with the movement and control of scrap materialAdministrate and co-ordinate heat treatment requestsAssist in the co-ordination of cycle counts and stock takesInvestigate and report on stock check requestsAdministrative support to the operations manager when ultrasonic testing is conductedCommunicate non-conformance issues on material received to Divisional Supply Chain ManagerSign-off and receiving of all stock returned for credit under supervision of the supply chain managerQuality Reports and presentations to customers, quality inspectors/controllersMaterial bar cast stamping monitoringKey Requirements:A mechanical qualification or certification relevant to the industry is required.2 years working experience in an industrial environment, the steel industry would be to your advantageCode 10 Drivers LicenseAbility to read, comprehend and explain mechanical documents, drawings and calculationsHands-on and involved, practically capable of performing general minor repairs and adjustmentsLeadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a teamExcellent mathematical and analytical skills, with proficiency in reporting and communicating technical and quality related requirementsExceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
