Job Description


ROLE DESCRIPTION:

  • The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing warehouse operations within their warehouse. These operations include stock management, team management, health & safety, and cost management. Your goal will be to increase operational efficiency, stock-on-hand accuracy, client confidence, team welfare and growth, and ensure a safe operating environment.

KEY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Warehouse Management (including Housekeeping & Administration)
  • Responsible for the overall performance of the warehouse.
  • Ensure detailed and timely communication (verbal & written) to all internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure correct warehouse processes are being followed.
  • Ensure accurate warehouse space planning. (planogram)
  • Ensure Materials Handling Equipment is serviced, and in good working order. Fuel is available where required.
  • Ensure the warehouse is clean and clear of debris at all times.
  • Ensure waste disposal is arranged and skip swap-outs are executed in line with prearranged costs.
  • Ensure racking is correctly labelled.
  • Team Management
  • Ensure the warehouse is fully staffed according to the approved organizational structure.
  • Continuous motivation and training of staff.
  • Staff performance management and reviews.
  • Time management including the checking of daily clocking on EDMA.
  • Human Resources related matters.
  • Stock Management
  • Ensure stock accuracy at all times by managing the receiving, put away, picking and dispatch process.
  • Conducting stock on-hand counts according to the provided schedule.
  • Investigate all stock on hand queries.
  • Cost Management
  • Ensure that all warehouse costs are constantly monitored and controlled.
  • Manage petty cash.
  • Waste Bins, overtime, casual labour, maintenance & professional inspections etc.
  • Health & Safety Management
  • Ensure the warehouse is compliant with all health and safety standards.
  • Conduct weekly/monthly/ad hoc inspections/audits timeously.
  • Maintain and ensure the Health & Safety file as well as the electronic Mango System are up to date at all times.
  • Log all incident reports on Mango.
  • Investigate all warehouse-related incidents.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF.
  • National Diploma and/or tertiary qualification in Logistics & Warehouse Management or related equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of warehouse and team management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word) & Google Workspace.

  • Exceptional communication skills, (verbal & written)
  • Good Knowledge of the safety and legal procedures for warehousing operations.
