Water Bottling Plant Maintenance and Production Manager:
- responsible for overseeing all aspects of a water bottling plant's production, ensuring smooth operations by managing both the maintenance of machinery and the production process itself,
- be able to do plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs
- while adhering to strict quality standards and safety regulations, including compliance with local food safety guidelines like HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
Plan and schedule production runs to meet daily/weekly targets and customer demands.
Monitor production lines to identify and address quality issues, ensuring consistent product quality.
Supervise production staff, including line operators and quality control personnel, providing training and performance evaluations.
Optimize production processes to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
Maintenance Management:
Implement and oversee a preventative maintenance program for all plant machinery and equipment.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, repairs and troubleshooting
Manage the maintenance budget and ensure cost-effective repairs.
Monitor spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement
Work with external maintenance service providers when necessary
Quality Control:
Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, including HACCP principles.
Conduct regular quality checks throughout the production process.
Investigate and address any quality issues that arise
Maintain accurate documentation of quality control procedures and records
Safety and Compliance:
Foster a culture of safety within the plant by enforcing safety protocols and procedures
Investigate and address safety incidents promptly
Conduct regular safety training for all staff
Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of water bottling plant operations, including water treatment processes, filling machinery, and packaging equipment.
Maintenance Expertise:
Proven experience in managing preventative maintenance programs and troubleshooting mechanical, plumbing and electrical issues.
Leadership Skills:
Ability to motivate and manage a team of production and maintenance staff
Quality Assurance:
Deep knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations
Problem-Solving:
Excellent analytical skills to identify and resolve production and maintenance issues
Relevant Education and Experience:
Significant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within a beverage production facility
Proven track record in managing production team
Familiarity with relevant South African regulations and standards related to food safety and water production
Plumbing, electrical and mechanical maintenance

Pay: R10000,00 - R15000,00 per month
