Job Description
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years experience within a welding role.
- Experience within the manufacturing, carpentry or shopfitting industry.
- Previous reading of technical drawings is essential.
- Assembling metal or repairing damaged metal components using heavy machinery, emits high heat and melting the required metal into a certain shape.
- Reviewing technical drawings, cutting metal into required shape and smoothing molten metal to remove creases.
- Reading and understanding technical drawings prior to starting the projects.
- Measuring and cutting material according to specifications.
- Welding materials using correct technique to join metals.
- Monitoring the fitting, burning and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or wrapping, shrinking distortion or expansion of materials.
- Cleaning, polishing, filling and bathing in acidic solutions of welded products and adding protective and decorative finishes.
- Quality checks on finished products ensuring it tolerances with the technical drawings.
- Assisting shopfitting team with production and installation.
- Willing to learn.
