The Workplace Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing workplace-based learning programs. This role includes coordinating student placements, ensuring that the WIL programs align with both educational standards and industry needs. The WIL Coordinator also provides support and guidance to students, ensuring they gain valuable practical experience to complement their academic learning
Key Responsibilities: Program Coordination and Management:
Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the WIL program, including student placement, industry partnerships, and compliance with educational requirements
Develop and maintain schedules for workplace experiences, ensuring they align with curriculum timelines
Ensure all WIL activities comply with regulatory and institutional policies
Student Support and Mentorship:
Act as a point of contact for students participating in WIL programs
Guide students on program expectations, workplace etiquette, and professional behavior
Provide mentorship and support, assisting students in goal setting and skill development related to their workplace experience.
Resolving any learner/client conflicts promptly
Understanding client requirements and onboarding clients and learners
Assessment and Reporting:
Monitor and evaluate student progress during their WIL placements
Conduct site visits, as needed, to assess the learning environment and ensure it meets program standards
Prepare reports on student performance and feedback from industry partners, and use this data to improve WIL programs
Administrative Duties:
Coordinate the documentation process, including maintaining records of placements, assessments, and any required agreements with host organizations and funders
Prepare and manage student and industry partner evaluations
Handle any issues or challenges that arise during placements and ensure proper resolution
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Education, Social Sciences, Business, or a related field, or relevant experience.
Experience: Prior experience in coordinating internships, student placements, or a related role in an academic or corporate environment.
Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
