A Civil Contractor based in the Northern Suburbs Cape Town is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented WorkshopLogistics Coordinator to provide crucial administrative support to our workshop operations. Reporting to the PlantManager, you will assist with various administrative tasks, coordinate driver and truck operations, and managelogistical processes. A key part of your role will involve updating and maintaining costing data within our internalsystem. The ideal candidate will excel in thinking creatively, working under pressure, and ensuring operationalefficiency.Experience & QualificationsRelevant tertiary qualification in logistics or a related field is preferred.A minimum of 35 years experience in a logistics or administrative role, with experience in costing beinghighly beneficial.Previous experience in the construction industry is advantageous.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative and Costing Supporto Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the Plant Manager, including organising andmanaging truck and driver documentation, daily schedules, and maintaining accurate records ofdriver timesheets, attendance, and truck mileage.o Update and maintain the internal costing system with accurate data on income, repairs, andoperational costs. Ensure cost data is current and reliable, assisting with financial reporting andaudits.Driver and Fleet Coordinationo Supervise and coordinate a team of drivers, handling administrative concerns, and addressinginquiries and issues. Manage job allocations for sites, product collections from suppliers, andreconcile fuel slips.o Collaborate with the workshop foreman to schedule and coordinate truck maintenance tasks,resolving scheduling conflicts as necessary.Logistics and Documentation Managemento Ensure all documentation related to truck logistics, orders, and deliveries is accurately recordedand maintained. Act as a liaison for truck drivers and internal stakeholders, handling customerinquiries and providing updates on truck availability and status.Safety and Complianceo As a Health and Safety Representative for the workshop, support the enforcement of safetyprocedures and ensure compliance with legislative regulations and industry standards. Assist inmaintaining records of compliance and safety protocols.Skills & CompetenciesStrong organisational and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail.Proficient in time management and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Ability to think creatively and adapt to varying tasks and challenges.Experience in costing and financial management within a logistics or related environment.Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach to teamwork
