The suitable candidate will come with at least 5 years experience in the Manufacturing and Production field with relevant Managerial experience.More about the client and the position:Our client excel in the production of precision parts, particularly gears, catering to the specialised needs of the mining, construction, and agricultural sectors. Their components are integral to a wide array of machinery utilised globally, spanning earthmoving, coal mining, rock drilling, and crushing operations.The ideal candidate for this role must possess a hands-on approach, readily delving into technical challenges on the factory floor. Approximately 70% of their time will be spent actively engaged in production activities, while the remaining 30% will involve office-based responsibilities. Directly reporting to the company's two Directors, the candidate should exhibit autonomy and resourcefulness when necessary.Furthermore, the candidate should be adept at interfacing with customers, offering direct support and troubleshooting as needed. The ability to swiftly problem-solve in customer-facing scenarios is a crucial aspect of this role.To efficiently manage our operations, we anticipate a staff complement of 100 individuals. While the primary requirement is for day shift coverage, it's imperative to plan for potential night shifts to ensure operational continuity.Minimum Requirements:Matric Certificate.Required: Qualifications sought include a background in Mechanical Engineering attained through a degree, diploma, or trade certification, coupled with managerial experience.Required: Minimum of 5 years' experience within manufacturing and production, preferably with exposure to sectors such as mining, agriculture, or construction.Required: Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings is essential, along with adeptness in utilizing measuring equipment and familiarity with metal machining processes like turning, milling, and heat treatment.Required: Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations, employment laws and basic financial principles.Previous experience working with CNC Mills / Lathes and CNC Gear Grinders.Duties and responsibilities:Actively monitoring the workshop floor to confirm that the appropriate components are allocated to the correct machines.Oversight of staff adherence to designated manufacturing protocols.Regular communication with the production, maintenance, and orders/deliveries managers is required to facilitate efficient operations.Collaborating with the maintenance manager to troubleshoot issues on the shop floor.Engaging with customers regarding overdue or problematic items.Ensuring accurate completion of job cards by staff is paramount.Upholding optimal housekeeping standards and compliance with health and safety regulations are key responsibilities.Closing Date:Submissions for this vacancy will close on 27 May 2024, however, you will still have the opportunity to submit your CV for this position till 07 June 2024.Please Note:Thank you for submitting your CV to Marvel Placement Consultants.
