Finding the optimal deal structure and terms has never been so important. Our clients range from blue chip corporates and private equity sponsors to lending institutions that include banks, insurance companies, funds, and other financial institutions. Our core finance practice areas include leveraged and acquisition finance, funds lending, real estate finance, project finance, asset finance, syndicated lending, Islamic finance, and trade and commodity finance.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:Technical Ability:

  • Understanding of legal principles of own practice area, along with a working knowledge of other practice areas;
  • Has project management responsibility, ensuring timely delivery to high quality standards;
  • Stays aware of legal developments affecting any specialist areas and regularly attends appropriate training sessions;
  • Undertakes training of junior colleagues in technical areas of knowledge and skill.
Client Focus:
  • Has good working relationships with clients;
  • Has a good understanding of client, the sector and the associated risks and opportunities;
  • Actively works to develop and strengthen new client relationships.
Team Work and Interpersonal Skills:
  • Acts as a source of advice to others, sharing knowledge and expertise, mentoring juniors colleagues in the team;

Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services.The Candidate:We have an opening for a Banking and Finance Attorney in our Corporate and Finance Team.
  • Experience gained within a top tier international firm is preferred.
  • It is essential that the candidate has a strong academic background, good attention to detail and strong organisational skills;
  • The successful candidate will have:
  • strong communication and analytical skills and a high level of commercial awareness;
  • outstanding technical drafting abilities, being familiar with LMA style documents as well as more bespoke financing documents;
  • strong technical legal skills and analytical and problem solving skills;
  • extensive cross border transactional experience, ideally with an international firm;
  • a solid understanding of project finance ideally in the energy sector;
  • experience working with DFIs will be beneficial;
  • an ability to work to deadlines, prioritising work and meeting conflicting demands on time;
  • demonstrable abilities to build and grow relationships with clients and colleagues and work well in a team;
  • a commercial appreciation of personal and teams link to achieving financial targets (e.g. utilization, realization, work in progress);
  • an ability to analyze and apply legal principles and facts.
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years PQE (or equivalent experience).

Additional Considerations:
